Lucas Fuel Treatment is formulated for both gasoline and diesel engines carbureted or fuel injected. It gives your fuel system what it really needs - a blend of super slick oils and additives with a high detergent action that allows the engine to operate at maximum efficiency. Also it cleans and lubricates the carburetor and injectors and causes the fuel to burn more thoroughly for increased power and less fuel consumption. Lucas Fuel Treatment should definitely be used in vehicles that require leaded fuel because it actually replaces the benefits of lead in gasoline without causing harmful emissions. Use it to pass smog tests. Finally it totally neutralizes the harmful effects of low sulfur diesel fuel.

Good product, don't expect MPG increase though Feb 12, 2010
I first bought a gallon of this a few years because of the MPG increase claims. I never noticed a difference in MPG, but recently I started using this product on a different car with 200k miles that requires 91 octane or above fuel. I had been using 87-88 octane for a long time and eventually I started hearing a pinging noise. After spending the extra money for premium for a while I remembered I had this stuff and decided to break it out of storage instead of buying premium gas.

It works great increasing octane level and killing the ping. It actually costs me less to buy this product than it does to pay for the premium gas. I only use about half of the recommended little bottles though, so about 2.6 ounces per fillup (15 gallons) and I notice no difference between using a half or a full bottle. I bought one of the little bottles and I just fill it up with the big one. I just bought another gallon from Amazon.

There is a noticeable increase in how the engine performs, the car accelerates better than before. Yeah I know this can be very subjective but even if it didn't improve performance I do believe it is keeping the engine cleaner than it would be otherwise, and like I mentioned before it's cheaper than premium gas.

But don't buy it for the MPG increase, you will probably be disappointed.

One con is that it is somewhat messy, especially in low temps where it moves very slowly.

I use this stuff with every tank that I put in my '94 4runner. Personally I notice a difference, both in mpg and how the motor runs, when I run this stuff. I know several people who swear by it as well. I think it really depends on the car/motor you have, but I'd definitely recommend giving this stuff a a shot. Even if it doesn't prove to be an mpg gainer, it's worth running every once in a while to clean out your injection system. At $22 and free shipping, I haven't found it cheaper anywhere else.

Place order from Auto Alley on 23 Nov 09 for "Lucas 10013 Fuel Treatment - 1 Gallon" got a calcelled message on 27 Nov with out reason.. Check the wabsite and still list as "IN STOCK" What gives???? I wasted 2 day for no reason.. Will not buy anything from Auto Alley again. Buyers think before place order from Auto Alley!!!!!.

Bought our 2001 Chevy Venture minivan new and have used Lucas from the beginning. After 73,000 miles engine runs very smooth, and if I try I can coax over 28 mpg on trips. Have kept all gas receipts since new and have records that show 22.8 mpg overall since new with 90% suburban Chicago driving. Best ever was just over 31 mpg on a 150 mile trip while staying at the speed limit, which of course blocks traffic, but gives good mileage. All measurements made with a Scangauge. I can never be sure, but I think Lucas helps.

I tried this product in a 2000 Chevy C2500 Pickup and a 2001 Honda CRV for 5 full tanks each. I really wanted this product to work exactly as claimed, but I cannot report success. I have tracked the fuel economy on both vehicles since being purchased new so unlike most people I know exactly what mpg they put out on a regular basis. In other words I did not just do a mpg check on one tank before I started using the product and then rave how great a gain I got on the next tank.
Using the product over 5 full tanks of gas in both vehicles I did not see any gains in fuel economy at all. I think, and stress think, the vehicles ran smoother, but that is such a subjective thing that people sometimes are tricked into believing because they expect/want it to happen. I can't report to all the other claims since once again they are subjective, but since the one thing I could test was false I have to doubt everything else. If you want to get it and hope that it does things you can't see then go for it. If you want better mileage then drive smoother and slower.
Also, don't listen to all those websites that say it gives you big gains in mileage. They make money by referring you to sites that sell the product so of course they are going to say they got great mileage gains.
